Fontina Kelley

Fontina Kelley received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University. She continued her studies and attended New England College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. After graduating, she worked as an optometrist for several years providing primary eye care. She then pursued a career in molecular biology working as a research associate at a start-up biotechnology company, Genomics Collaborative. Her work there concentrated on high-throughput DNA isolation along with serum and lymphocyte isolation. She also performed DNA fragment analysis with ABI automated DNA sequencers. Fontina is currently a research assistant at the Harvard Institute of Proteomics. As a member of the Production team she contributes to the processes involved in the high-throughput cloning and in the production of full length clones for the FLEX (Full Length EXpression) Repository. The main focus of her work now involves the DNA sequence analysis and data tracking of clones for the PSI Material Repository using ACE (Automatic Clone Evaluation) and Sequencher software. Her interests include reading, needlepoint, photography and enjoying time with family and friends.
